Euclid Taps Ex-AdSense, SurveyMonkey Sales Exec For Biz Dev Role

Brennan O'Donnell’s hiring follows the geo-analytics provider’s $20 million funding and efforts to expand its client base.

Former Survey Monkey VP of sales Brennan O’Donnell has been appointed SVP of sales and business development at location analytics company Euclid.

A 15-year ad tech sales veteran, O’Donnell served at Survey Monkey for the last two years. During that period, he helped build and ultimately lead the company’s enterprise division.Before that, O’Donnell was VP of business-based communications and sharing platform Yammer  and was part of the team that managed the company’s $1.2 billion acquisition by Microsoft.

O’Donnell got his start working nine years at Google in various sales positions. He was a sales manager for Google’s AdSense department and head of sales for both Consumer and Enterprise, and Google for Work. All in all, O’Donnell has significant experience in the world of sales and growing a business centered on courting enterprise clients.

That “single view” as he put it, refers to Euclid’s goal of giving their clients a way to unify their analytics of their online customers and their in-store customers into a single cohesive profile. Euclid believes that doing that is the key to providing customers with a “logged in experience,” or an in-store experience that mimics the personalized capabilities of a website that saves a customer’s profile, customizing the homepage and offers to fit each customer’s needs.

“We basically want to understand how people interact with places in the world and how places in the world relate to one another in the physical world,” CEO Brent Franson told GeoMarketing. “We do that with software and we do it in a way that’s massively scalable. The way we solve that problem is by understanding the relationship between phones and wi-fi.”

O’Donnell’s appointment isn’t surprising given the expansion plans Euclid has had set in place since the six-year old startup raised $20 million in third round funding earlier this month.

“On the heels of our rapid growth and recent funding, Brennan is a welcome addition to our executive management team,” said Franson. “As we tackle the massive market potential ahead of us, Brennan’s extensive sales and operations experience will be of tremendous value as we explore new growth opportunities and expand the business.”
